AWS
Software Development Engineer II
Initially worked as an engineer on
AWS Data Exchange where I primarily worked on the AWS Console experience before shifting
my focus to operations. I led the region expansion of AWS Data Exchange
from two regions in preview to eleven regions before launch. I led
weekly operations handoff meetings and authored a logging aggregation
service so service teams could query logs across all Data Exchange
microservices.
While working on AWS Data Exchange, I wanted to improve the SDLC
of of my fellow engineers so I began experimenting with ways to
create "personal" copies of all microservices and automate
updates to them. It was at that time that I was introduced to a
new product within the Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX)
organization whose goal was precicely that. I have spent the
last 3 years working as the lead engineer on the team building
this new experience for internal builders and it has already
been shown to increase code review velocity among those who have
adopted it.

data from the client's service layer for web application
consumption. Helped the client work on their Mule ESB service

Began working with React and Redux when I had to make updates in
the web application that consumed the Node.js API layer.

Seton Hall University
BS Biology
Started off in a doctorate program for Physical Therapy until
early on in my junior year when my boss at the clinic I was
working at said, "Laura, can you build us a website?" and I of
course said "Yes" not knowing even where to begin. After launching
that first website, it became clear to me what I wanted to do, and
it wasn't physical therapy.
I graduated with a degree in Biology and minors in Computer
Science and Mathematics.
